Hi how are ya?
Oliver de Luz (they/elle pronouns) is a non-binary, queer, and Mexican-American actor, comedian, and educator originally from Valley Center, California. They graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts and currently are the Associate Front of House Manager at The Old Globe in San Diego, California. Oliver has been an improviser since 2008, a sketch comedian since 2013, a stand-up comic since 2019, and a freak since birth. Oliver blends vulnerability with humor, heart with grit. They are drawn to stories involving friendship, queerness, transness, Latin folklore, clowning, family disfunction, the barriers of borders and language, and so much more.
Proudest moments thus far include: performing in I Don’t Think So Honey! Live with Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, being a member of bilingual improv team ¿Qué? in Philadelphia, and puppeteering the adorable baby Ankylosaurus Bumpy at Jurassic World Exhibition in San Diego. A self-proclaimed tv goblin, Oliver loves consuming media. They also love consuming vegan food. Oh, and going to the beach. And singing karaoke. And sleeping in. And going on hikes. And being a river rat. The world is a scary place, but hey, they’re happy to be here.
